Wood... Monthly Theme Day

Parque Laje. A fallen tree over one of the garden lakes.
Nature always takes its spaces, no matter we try to tame it.

Parque Laje. Uma árvore caída naturalmente sobre um dos lagos do jardim.
A Natureza sempre retoma seus espaços, não importa o quanto tentemos domá-la.

Wood.
Wood naked, raw, alive.
Wood wound,
by the time, by the life lived.
Worn, fallen, almost dead, but arrogant, haughty, proud.
Wood, simply.

Madeira.
Madeira nua, crua, viva.
Madeira ferida,
pelo tempo, pela vida vivida.
Desgastada, caída, quase morta, mas sobranceira, altiva, orgulhosa.
Madeira, simplesmente.

Today is the first of the month and that's theme day. And today the theme is ... wood! What else?

  2. Felled trunks in a swamp are the source of life for so many other animal and vegetable things.

  3. @julie from Sydney, is not a swamp. It is a lake caught in the winter when rains are scarce.

  4. The fallen tree makes a bridge. Perfect.

  5. The rippling shape of the log and the inside of the broken part make this especially interesting to look at.

  6. A beautiful image. So full of the atmosphere - I can feel the heat and humidity - and I love the words you use too.

What?

We walk by the streets of our city and very often we don’t realize its images, which are there and which suddenly are not any more.

To photograph and glance is to guard images, impressions. It is also to re-discover the space where we live, our imaginary and scenario of our lives.

Our glance is not enough. It is necessary that others look what we see.
