Winter in Rio

The beachs of Leblon, Ipanema and Arpoador in the carioca's winter.

Praias do Leblon, Ipanema e Arpoador no inverno carioca.

video

Look out the surfer jumping from the rock and trying to catch a wave. This point of the beach is hard to surf. Listen to the sea roar in his fury of winter.

  1. Oh the beaches! Wish I could magically transport myself there during Minnesota's snowy winter!

Why?

(Marcel Proust)

What time is it in Rio?

What about the weather?

Who, where or when?

What?

We walk by the streets of our city and very often we don’t realize its images, which are there and which suddenly are not any more.

To photograph and glance is to guard images, impressions. It is also to re-discover the space where we live, our imaginary and scenario of our lives.

Our glance is not enough. It is necessary that others look what we see.
